Childbirth Education

Having a baby is a big step — and it's normal to feel excited, nervous, or unsure. This 3-hour class will help you get ready for your baby's birth. You'll learn how to know when labor is starting, what happens at the hospital, and simple ways to handle labor pain. A support person — like a partner, friend or family member — is welcome to come with you. The class is taught by a registered nurse who understands and respects different cultures and family traditions.

All prenatal education classes require a $35 nonrefundable registration fee. If financial assistance is needed or you are a Denver Health employee, please contact info4moms2be@dhha.org

You must pre-register for ALL classes.

Clase de parto (Spanish Childbirth)

El prepararse para tener un bebé puede ser algo emocionante y abrumador a la vez. Esta clase de tres horas le ayudará a planear su gran día. Aprenderá a reconocer cuando está en trabajo de parto, que esperar en el hospital y cómo manejar la situación. La persona que le vaya a apoyar en el trabajo de parto puede asistir a clase con usted.

Todas las clases de educación prenatal requieren una cuota de inscripción no reembolsable de $35. Las mujeres embarazadas pueden traer a una persona de apoyo con ellas. Si necesita asistencia financiera o si usted es un empleado de Denver Health, comuníquese con info4moms2be@dhha.org.

Newborn Care Class

Ideal for first-time expectant parents, this class will help you and your partner become more comfortable and confident parents with helpful hints, activities and information you can use. You’ll learn about newborn appearance, what to expect in the first few hours, nutrition, newborn behavior, daily care, baby safety and when to call for help.

Prenatal Breastfeeding

Instructed by one of Denver Health’s International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants, this two-hour class will help you prepare for breastfeeding prior to delivery so you can achieve the best breastfeeding experience for you and your baby.
